If Macwelt's information holds, 2026 would not be an improvisation but a replay of 2015, down to the Saturday and down to the midnight start. The only difference is the era: back then, midnight openings were Apple's norm; today the company has spent years opening pre-orders at 5 a.m. Pacific so that American customers could order over breakfast rather than at the stroke of midnight.

Midnight in California is morning in Europe

The reported schedule redistributes the inconvenience. A midnight start in Cupertino means 3 a.m. in New York — a rough night for East Coast buyers used to an 8 a.m. window.
