1. Who is responsible for your data

OneMoreThing (onemorething.news) is published by Studio A8S, France. Studio A8S acts as the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, write to privacy@onemorething.news. We answer within one month, as required by the GDPR.

2. What we collect and why

We collect as little as possible, and nothing that identifies you by name unless you write to us.

• Server logs. Our host records your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of each request. These logs exist to keep the site running, diagnose faults and prevent abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in the security and availability of the site.
• Advertising. If you consent, Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies to display and measure advertisements. Legal basis: your consent.
• Correspondence. If you email us, we keep your message and address for as long as needed to handle your request. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you.

We do not ask you to create an account, we run no newsletter, and we do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.

3. Cookies and consent

Your theme and language preferences are stored in this browser using local storage, not cookies. They are optional display settings and are not used for tracking.

The site sets Google Consent Mode defaults to denied before loading the AdSense tag. The Google-managed European consent message is configured through AdSense Privacy & messaging; it may not be delivered or displayed while Google is reviewing this site. We therefore do not claim that a consent banner or a persistent preference control is currently visible on every visit.

When Google displays its consent message, use that message to accept or refuse the available choices. Google’s consent-revocation control is made available for approved sites where the message is displayed. Until then, do not treat the default denied signals as consent or as proof that a choice was collected. You can also manage Google ad personalization in your Google Ads settings.

4. Advertising and Google AdSense

The site includes the Google AdSense tag. Whether ads are served depends on Google’s review and account settings. If ads are served, Google and its advertising partners may process information as described below and in Google’s own policies; the site’s default consent signals are not a substitute for a user choice.

5. Who else processes data

• Vercel — hosting and content delivery, and the server logs that come with it.
• Google Ireland Limited — advertising services (AdSense). The Google AdSense tag is present; whether ads are served depends on Google’s review and settings.
• Images used on the site are served from this site’s own hosting; we do not load images from Unsplash or comparable image-library servers.

Some of these providers are established outside the European Union or transfer data to it. Such transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or on an adequacy decision, as the case may be.

6. How long we keep things

Server logs are kept for a maximum of twelve months. Advertising cookies expire according to the schedule set by Google, generally within thirteen months. Emails you send us are deleted once the exchange is closed and no longer useful.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to your data, its correction, its erasure, the restriction of its processing, or its portability. You may object to processing based on our legitimate interest, and you may withdraw a consent at any time.

Write to privacy@onemorething.news to exercise any of these rights. If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL.

8. Children

This site addresses a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 15, the age of digital consent in France.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the update date at the top of this page will be revised and, where the change concerns consent, you will be asked for your choices again.
